“All good things are wild and free.”
Henry David Thoreau

Hey there!

I’d like to introduce you to our furry family members. We currently have four loevely dogs. Two older hungarian wirehaired vizslas and two younger miniature wirehaired dachshunds. We cannot imagine a life without dogs. Armin and I both grew up with pets, dogs were always a part of our lives.

Zofy

Zofy was born in March, 2008. She’s the second youngest but the craziest of the pack. Although she’s a pure wirehaired viszla with an excellent pedigree, she looks like a short haired vizsla. It happens, as the breed is quite new. Zofy can be the most annoying creature but in 2018 we almost lost her which was tough. She developed an autoimmune reaction after an intestinal injury and was a very severe case. We didn’t give up and the vets at the clinic did an amazing job to bring her back.

Luca

Luca was born in June, 2007 but arrived in our family the same day as Zofy. When we went to our breeder to pick a dog from the litter, Luca was the first to great us at the gate. She was 10 months old at that time and we fell in love with her. 4 weeks later, when we went to pick up Zofy, Luca jumped into the car and we took them both home. It was the best thing that could have happened for both of them. She’s a golden girl with only minor heart issues age related, so we hope to have a few more good years with her,  as well.

Sookie

A few years after we got the vizlas, our breeder started with the mini wirehaired dachshunds. We saw all the cute pictures on her facebook feed and followed for a couple of years until we decided it was time for kiddo no. 3.
Sookie was born in August, 2015, and Armin believes it was on his birthday but it wwas actually the night before. She was the smallest in the litter and has the softest hair. I know you shouldn’t pick a favorite child but this one is my forever baby <3

Chippy

After having Sookie, we started to realize that as good as the three get along, Sookie was missing a playmate her size. So, having three or four dogs doesn’t really make a difference anymore, so Chippy came to our lives. She’s definitely the biggest clown of them all, we laugh many times daily about her and the pack. Chippy was born in April, 2017, so the two dachshunds have many more years to bear with us.

We live outside of a small town surrounded by fields and the forest is just a few steps away. Our garden is big, it’s a little paradise for all of us. As we work from home, the dogs are never alone for long times.

Our breeder is a wonderful experienced lady from Budapest, she’s managing an award winning kennel and is internationally renowned. We’d have 10 more dogs if we could handle them, but four is plenty, keeping our work & travel plans in mind. We’re currently in the process of building an overland truck to hopefully be able to spend winters in the south or one day – if at all possible anymore – travel the Panamericana all the way from Alaska to Tierra del Fuego and back. But that’s written on another page…

Hugs,

Esther
